Uh, Oh... I'm Slackin'!!

It's been a month since I posted... I'm slackin' I know. But you have to give me a break 'cause I have had something everyday and actually haven't had any time to do something I want. Like blogging:) I'll give you a little recap of my awful beautiful life:)

OK, so to start off with... I MADE THE BASKETBALL TEAM!!! This is the 8th grade competitive team. We started out having 13 girls, then 3 quit, and then 2 7th graders came up to our team since they were the only ones who signed up for after school sports basketball. Sad, huh... What is this world coming too?? Anyhow, I have games on Mondays and then practice every Wednesday, and Friday, right after school 'til 5 or 5:30, depending on the day. And then this week Mesa High (Go Jackrabbits!!) started having open gyms on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a couple of hours. That will go probably 'til the end of the year. And then on top of that I have chores to do and homework and working out and fitting in my own practices of basketball and piano. Every day. You'll cut me some slack now right?

So,on my team, half of us came knowing how to play and have had at least a little bit experience on the court. The rest of the team have never a played a game of basketball in their life. That surprised me. And then add the fact that we only have 12 girls, most of us being my height and shorter except for three taller girls and they're actually not extremely tall either. Then today I found out that 1 girl is now thinking about quitting. Great:)

My Taylor Trojans team played Brimhall first. I'm gonna tell you right now... those girls are huge. All the teams we've played have been bigger and taller than me or at least my height. Anyway, Brimhall had at least 3 Club players, one of which was Brimhall's coach's daughter. Oh man, right? Well, they beat us pretty bad. Then our next game was actually on a Saturday. We faced Fremont. Now those girls were more our height but they did have huge players. We won them 39-19. Pretty awesome right? Now for the truth... that game wasn't real. It was just a practice game. There were refs and everything but it didn't count in the season. Darn, right? Our next opponents were the Stapley girls. Also huge:) They beat us pretty good. My cousin was also on that team. Plenty of surprises that day... more that enough:) And then this last game we played was against the Kino Kolts. We all went in expecting to win. We should've. But we didn't. It was definitely a hard fought game though, don't get me wrong. We were so close to beating them, and then some stupid mistakes were made and it went down from there. Besides that it was my coaches birthday. Happy Birthday Coach, don't you just love us:) OK, to be honest with you... we really aren't that bad. We actually could be really good if coach would just put us in the right spots. Right now we have a main guard (I love her to death don't get me wrong) that isn't that good. She can dribble, but she can be a ball hog at times. And one of the main things that a guard needs to have is to be able to read the court. She doesn't do that. If you wanna know why I say that... ask because there are way too many things wrong with the way our coach is dealing with how we play. OK, now don't get me wrong there either... he has a good heart but he's not making wise choices. I better stop rambling on now... sorry:) Our next game is a practice game at Taylor against one of coaches friend's teams. We'll see how that goes:)

Now for the positives of this week...

1. Finding out some amazing secrets...

2. Talking with friends during orchestra (only because we're doing sectionals this week... if we weren't then the teacher would kill us for talking... ugh I can't stand that lady):( Oh yes, back to the positives...

3. Playing Just Dance with the Beehives... Oh it's fun to get way into that game... not only that, it's a great workout:)...

4. Swimming...

5. My family:)...

6. The noise a basketball makes when you swoosh it...

7. The way it feels so natural to play and dribble a basketball...

8. The feel when a basketball rolls in your hands...

9. When you have no homework because you finished it in science...

10. Walking and talking with some of your best guy friends after school... and girl friends too, don't worry, I have both:)...

OK, well I better stop because this is getting really long and I gotta go work out before I get ready for bed:) Toodles my friends!

Be Prepared...

OK, I'm warning you now... this is going to be a looong post. I'm going to post all the catch up pictures...

This is Charlotte Hope Merrill. She is Matt and Linsey's little bundle of joy:) I would go into full picture mode like I did with Shayla, but that would take too long and I don't think I have enough space but here's one of her now...

Now this is one of Shayla now...

So next stop down memory lane is Tanner and Jenn's wedding. It was extremely hot, but the gorgeous reception that night made up for it...

I couldn't find any reception pictures but that is OK. There's always next time right? Now the next thing I promised to get pictures up of was Brad Paisley's Water Tour concert that I went to with Matt, Linsey, Taylor, Mariah, Tanner, and Jenn. I had so much fun... maybe I can even get a video or two up...

Easton Corbin was the first one up... He was amazing! My admiration for him grew so much. He is an extremely good singer... and besides, with his concert I got to be super close to the stage:) The pics of him I took came out great but the videos not so much since we were so close to the stage.

Next up came Justin Moore. He was really good too, but, personally, I liked Easton Corbin better than him:)

Now his and all the rest of the singers' videos turned out way better than Easton's.

Then Darius Rucker came on...

And, next up was the one we came to see.... the one and only Brad Paisley!!! He is my favorite country singer by far!!! He is amazing... His songs are amazing with the lyrics and his mad skills at guitar:) Not only that, but as my awesome sister-in-law Linsey says... he's a cutie-pa-tootie!! He is one of the most amazing singers ever. He does not need computers to prove he has a great voice. He can sing, that's for sure!

Now I'd be prepared if I were you 'cause plenty of pics and videos are comin' your way...

He started out with the song, Water...

Then another song was American Saturday Night...

This is one of my favorites... She's Everything...

He is also one of the funniest guys on earth!! He cracked me up! This is only one thing he did that made everyone laugh... This is two videos long  because I didn't realize what he was doing when I first started taping this but then I found out once I had stopped the video so I made a second one. You'll miss part of it and it's actually one of the most important parts, but hey, at least I got some of it right?

Part 1

Part 2

Mud on the Tires... He's so awesome that he came and sang to the people in the cheap seats... isn't he just amazing?

The whole night I was waiting for him to sing the song Then. It's one of my favorites of his. I was so disappointed when we were getting ready to leave and he was singing his last song and hadn't sung Then yet. Then a miracle happened... he sang it!! I unfortunately didn't have enough battery to last through the whole song but I got the main part before my camera died... And I actually got a close up on his face but a stupid speaker was in the way so you only see a part of his face, but a little is better than none, right?

OK, well I didn't get to post all the pics I wanted but that's all I can for now... Next time I'll finish it up... I promise...

Another Week...

Another week has come and gone:) It went by way too fast. Why does it seem like time went by so slow in elementary school, but then in 7th grade, you get there and decide to take a quick cat nap and you're already in 8th grade! It's crazy! So, let's see... this last week's positives were...

1. Realizing how the Pirates of the Caribbean medley you're doing in orchestra might actually sound really amazing for the concert:)...

2. Listening to your favorites songs (you can sing along with it without sounding like an idiot since you know it word for word)...

3. Spending time with the girls in YW (they're the best!)...

4. Watching your favorite TV shows...

5. Playing a basketball game with a friend for 2 hours straight (no breaks at all) at a birthday party (hey, everybody else was doing their own thing, too)...

6. Birthday Parties...

7. Shopping with friends (I hate shopping unless it's with some of my best friends)...

8. Babysitting your favorite kids...

9. Finding out I'm going to Hawaii this summer... I'm going straight there the day after school then I'll be gone for a week and a half and then come back and the next day is girls camp for 4 days (the beginning of summer will be packed:)...

10. Playing softball for mutual (except for the fact that's it's not really softball anymore since they took out all rules so now it's basically hit the ball and run around bases until you get to the home base)...

11. Being around your best friends at lunch...

12. Crackin' jokes with the YW... and friends from school...

13. The fact that my ward is the  loudest, most competitive ward in our stake:)...

I actually could keep going but I gotta get going to get ready for mutual. I'm supposed to be there at 7:30 since our softball game is at 8. So wish us luck that we'll win (even though they don't keep track of points, but my ward does!) Well, I promise I'll get those pictures up eventually, but probably not tonight:) Until next time fellow bloggers!

HaPpY VaLEnTiNe'S DaY!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!!

I hope you all had a fantabulous Valentine's Day! For me, it was just like any other normal day, except for the fact that everyone was carrying around heart balloons, bears, candy, you know, stuff like that.:) Lucky me... I got to go to a dentist appointment as soon as school got out, but the Sonic slush I got afterword made up for it:) I never knew they let you add flavors in to your slush, they must've just put that out. You guys should all try the Cherry Vanilla... it's the best! Anyway, I'm supposed to be doing homework right now, so I better get going... I have a report due tomorrow:(

Oh, before I forget, I decided that every week (or maybe even day if I get time) that I'd list things that made me happy that week, or just the positive things... That way it can help me see all the positive things in life:)

So this last week was...

1. Getting to see my friends everyday...

2. Getting to play a medley of Pirates of the Caribbean songs in orchestra...

3. Planning movie marathons with friends...

4. Hearing funny celebrity stories...

5. Bridal Showers:)...

6. Remembering something funny that happened and laughing your head off... then people give you weird looks 'cause they don't know why you're laughing:)...

7. Taking math tests in class 'cause that means no math homework that night...

8. My Young Women's group:)... I have the best leaders that can teach the most amazing lessons that really do touch you...

9. Messing around with your hair and coming up with a new hairstyle...

10. Hearing your favorite song on the radio and singing along to it 'cause you're all alone, so no one will hear you anyway...

11. Having the nicest subs...

12. Getting to cook in Home Ec. and going to your next hour with the food that you made, that way you can fill the room with that food's smell and rubbing it in people's faces, but then you share it with them...

13. Bringing food into orchestra and how it's gone by the end of class... and mostly because of the famous Jacobson Twin Handfuls:)

14. Watching a good movie and rewatching your favorite parts...

15. Laying in bed, remembering all that happened that day...

16. Getting compliments...

17. Sitting on the floor... (Hey, the pioneers didn't have as nice of chairs as we do right? Why not deal with what they had to go through?)

18. Going to your friend's roadshow... (her stake really goes all out and makes it as perfect as it can get)

19. Kid History videos... (if you haven't seen them yet look them up on youtube)

20. Quoting Kid History videos with friends AND family:)

I promise I'll get pictures up eventually, but I'm never on the right computer when I blog. So the next time I'm on that computer, I'll make sure I get those pictures on here...
