Uh, Oh... I'm Slackin'!!

It's been a month since I posted... I'm slackin' I know. But you have to give me a break 'cause I have had something everyday and actually haven't had any time to do something I want. Like blogging:) I'll give you a little recap of my awful beautiful life:)

OK, so to start off with... I MADE THE BASKETBALL TEAM!!! This is the 8th grade competitive team. We started out having 13 girls, then 3 quit, and then 2 7th graders came up to our team since they were the only ones who signed up for after school sports basketball. Sad, huh... What is this world coming too?? Anyhow, I have games on Mondays and then practice every Wednesday, and Friday, right after school 'til 5 or 5:30, depending on the day. And then this week Mesa High (Go Jackrabbits!!) started having open gyms on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a couple of hours. That will go probably 'til the end of the year. And then on top of that I have chores to do and homework and working out and fitting in my own practices of basketball and piano. Every day. You'll cut me some slack now right?

So,on my team, half of us came knowing how to play and have had at least a little bit experience on the court. The rest of the team have never a played a game of basketball in their life. That surprised me. And then add the fact that we only have 12 girls, most of us being my height and shorter except for three taller girls and they're actually not extremely tall either. Then today I found out that 1 girl is now thinking about quitting. Great:)

My Taylor Trojans team played Brimhall first. I'm gonna tell you right now... those girls are huge. All the teams we've played have been bigger and taller than me or at least my height. Anyway, Brimhall had at least 3 Club players, one of which was Brimhall's coach's daughter. Oh man, right? Well, they beat us pretty bad. Then our next game was actually on a Saturday. We faced Fremont. Now those girls were more our height but they did have huge players. We won them 39-19. Pretty awesome right? Now for the truth... that game wasn't real. It was just a practice game. There were refs and everything but it didn't count in the season. Darn, right? Our next opponents were the Stapley girls. Also huge:) They beat us pretty good. My cousin was also on that team. Plenty of surprises that day... more that enough:) And then this last game we played was against the Kino Kolts. We all went in expecting to win. We should've. But we didn't. It was definitely a hard fought game though, don't get me wrong. We were so close to beating them, and then some stupid mistakes were made and it went down from there. Besides that it was my coaches birthday. Happy Birthday Coach, don't you just love us:) OK, to be honest with you... we really aren't that bad. We actually could be really good if coach would just put us in the right spots. Right now we have a main guard (I love her to death don't get me wrong) that isn't that good. She can dribble, but she can be a ball hog at times. And one of the main things that a guard needs to have is to be able to read the court. She doesn't do that. If you wanna know why I say that... ask because there are way too many things wrong with the way our coach is dealing with how we play. OK, now don't get me wrong there either... he has a good heart but he's not making wise choices. I better stop rambling on now... sorry:) Our next game is a practice game at Taylor against one of coaches friend's teams. We'll see how that goes:)

Now for the positives of this week...

1. Finding out some amazing secrets...

2. Talking with friends during orchestra (only because we're doing sectionals this week... if we weren't then the teacher would kill us for talking... ugh I can't stand that lady):( Oh yes, back to the positives...

3. Playing Just Dance with the Beehives... Oh it's fun to get way into that game... not only that, it's a great workout:)...

4. Swimming...

5. My family:)...

6. The noise a basketball makes when you swoosh it...

7. The way it feels so natural to play and dribble a basketball...

8. The feel when a basketball rolls in your hands...

9. When you have no homework because you finished it in science...

10. Walking and talking with some of your best guy friends after school... and girl friends too, don't worry, I have both:)...

OK, well I better stop because this is getting really long and I gotta go work out before I get ready for bed:) Toodles my friends!
